The European Commission (EC) has granted preliminary approval for the merger between Tata Steel and ThyssenKrupp.
The commission invited interested third parties to submit their possible observations not later than 10 days following October 3.
Tata Steel and ThyssenKrupp reached a definitive agreement for a 50/50 joint venture in early July this year.
