It is reported that the European Union (EU) is planning to remove its antidumping (AD) duty on Chinese steel and iron pipes, the provisional antidumping duty of which, ranging at 15-25 percent, comes to an end in six months.
Accordingly, the removal of the AD duty in question will be proposed in meetings on July 28 when trade officials from the countries involved will come together.
On April 8, the EU also imposed an antidumping duty on seamless steel pipe and cast iron pipe imports from China.
As per market reports, the European Commission (EC) aims to end the trade tension between the EU and China.
As SteelOrbis recently reported, the EU and the US have filed a complaint with the World Trade Organization (WTO) accusing China of export restrictions on raw materials and reduced internal costs to the domestic iron and steel enterprises, constituting unfair business practices.
Since the emergence of the EU's trade deficit with China, EU-China trade disputes have been following an escalating trend, with the EU starting to impose antidumping duties on a wide variety of goods from China.
