European commercial vehicle registrations up 12 percent in January

In January this year, new commercial vehicle registrations in the European Union (EU) increased by 12 percent year on year to 159,712 units, in line with its positive performance in 2015, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA). 
 
In January this year, the truck and heavy truck segments saw significant growth, while bus and coach registrations remained stable, year on year. Four of the five largest markets in the EU posted gains in January, with Italy (+23.9%) and Spain (+21.0%) recording the highest growth rates.
