Australia's Antidumping Commission has announced that it has started an exemption inquiry regarding the antidumping and countervailing duties on hollow structural section (HSS) imports from China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.

The exemption is requested by Germany-based steelmaker ThyssenKrupp Group's Australian subsidiary ThyssenKrupp Mannex Pty Ltd, an importer of the goods in question.

Antidumping and countervailing duties were originally imposed in July 2012. All exporters from China, South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan are subject to antidumping measures.

The goods in question currently fall under Customs Tariff Statistics Position Numbers 7306.30.00, 7306.61.00 and 7306.69.00.
