Brazil exported 8,900 mt of niobium ferroalloys in April, against 6,800 mt in March, according to customs.
The exports in April were destined to Asia (6,100 mt, of which 4,300 mt at $24,117/mt to China), Europe (2,200 mt at $26,032/mt) and the US (500 mt at $24,006/mt), all FOB conditions, while small volumes were shipped to South American countries and to South Africa.
The exporters were from CBMM, the world’s largest producing company (6,600 mt at $25,674/mt) and CMOC (1,600 mt at $24,179/mt), while 700 mt at $20,905/mt were exported from irregular operations in the state of Amazonas.
The world’s largest producer of niobium ferroalloys, Brazil exported 29,100 mt of the product during the first four months of 2024, with total revenues of $732.4 million, against respectively 30,600 mt and $784.4 million during the same period of 2023.
