The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first half of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-June 2009 the company recorded a 4.7 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 13.694 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 8.3 percent fall to 4.991 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 8.5 percent year on year to 4.124 million metric tons.
In June 2009, Ferrexpo's iron ore output decreased by 3.2 percent, its concentrate production went down by 1.1 percent, while its total pellet production dropped by two percent, all compared to May 2009. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.482 million, 895,200, and 740,200.
