The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first four months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-April 2009 the company recorded a 9.3 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 8.648 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw an 11.9 percent fall to 3.190 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 13.7 percent year on year to 2.628 million metric tons.
In April2009, Ferrexpo's iron ore output increased by 4.3 percent, its concentrate production went up by 1.5 percent, while its total pellet production increased by 3.5 percent, all compared to March 2009. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.456 million, 902,300, and 745,100.
