The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first eight months of 2009.
Accordingly, in the January-August period the company recorded a 3.4 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 18.535 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 6.4 percent fall to 6.827 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 6.4 percent year on year to 5.621 million metric tons.
In August this year, Ferrexpo's iron ore output went down by 5.4 percent, its total pellet production dropped by 0.5 percent, while its concentrate production increased by 2.8 percent, all compared to the previous month. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.353 million, 746,900 and 931,300.
