The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first seven months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-July 2009 the company recorded a 3.6 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 16.182 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 7.4 percent fall to 5.896 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 7.1 percent year on year to 4.874 million metric tons.
In July 2009, Ferrexpo's iron ore output increased by 0.2 percent, its concentrate production went up by 1.2 percent, while its total pellet production grew by 1.4 percent, all compared to June 2009. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.488 million, 905,600, and 750,500.
