The UK-based company Ferrexpo, whose main interests are in Ukrainian iron ore assets, has announced its production results for the first five months of 2009.
Accordingly, in January-May 2009 the company recorded a 6.2 percent decrease year on year in its iron ore production to 11.211 million metric tons, while its concentrate production saw a 9.8 percent fall to 4.095 million metric tons.
During the given period, Ferrexpo's total pellet production decreased by 9.9 percent year on year to 3.383 million metric tons.
In May 2009, Ferrexpo's iron ore output increased by 4.4 percent, its concentrate production went up by 0.3 percent, while its total pellet production increased by 1.3 percent, all compared to April 2009. The respective figures in metric tons were 2.563 million, 905,400, and 755,100.
