Finland’s Outotec to supply ferrochrome plant to China’s Mintal Group

Finland-based plantmaker Outotec has announced that it has won a contract from Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China-based Mintal Group Co. (Mintal), a large manufacturer of ferrochrome and stainless steel, for the design and delivery of a new ferrochrome plant. The contract marks Outotec's first delivery of its energy efficient ferrochrome plant to China.

According to the company statement, the new plant will have an annual capacity of 300,000 mt of ferrochrome and it is scheduled to be launched in 2013. The contract value has not been disclosed
