France's manufacturing output in February this year decreased by 0.9 percent month on month, after a 0.4 percent month-on-month increase in January, and rose by 1.5 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the December-February period, France’s manufacturing output indicated an decrease of 0.1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In the given month, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 1.1 percent compared to January, after a month-on-month increase of 0.5 percent in January. In the December-February period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 0.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in February production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw an increase of 2.6 percent on month-on-month basis after a 2.8 percent month-on-month rise recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry decreased by six percent month on month in the given month after an increase of 4.5 percent in January from December. In the December-February period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 1.4 percent and output of the domestic construction industry fell by 1.8 percent, both quarter on quarter.
