France's manufacturing output in July this year decreased by 0.3 percent month on month, after a 1.1 percent month-on-month decline in June, and fell by 0.1 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the May-July period, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 0.4 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In July, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 1.7 percent compared to June, after a month-on-month decrease of 0.7 percent in June. In the May-July period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, remained stable compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in July production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a decrease of two percent on month-on-month basis after a 0.7 percent month-on-month fall recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 4.8 percent month on month in the given month after a decrease of 0.4 percent in June from May. In the May-July period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 2.1 percent and output of the domestic construction industry rose by 3.5 percent, both quarter on quarter.
