France's manufacturing output in April this year increased by 1.3 percent month on month, after a one percent month-on-month decline in March and rose by 0.6 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the February-April period, France’s manufacturing output indicated a decrease of 1.2 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In April, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.6 percent compared to March, after a month-on-month decrease of 1.5 percent in March. In the February-April period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, fell by 2.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in April production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a increase of three percent on month-on-month basis after a 2.9 percent month-on-month fall recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 0.7 percent month on month in the given month after an increase of 1.3 percent in March from February. In the February-April period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry increased by 2.4 percent and output of the domestic construction industry fell by 2.3 percent, both quarter on quarter.
