France's manufacturing output in January this year increased by 0.8 percent month on month, after a zero growth month-on-month in December, and rose by 2.6 percent year on year, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the November-January period, France’s manufacturing output indicated an increase of 0.5 percent compared to the previous quarter.
In the given month, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, increased by 0.8 percent compared to December, after a month-on-month increase of 0.5 percent in December. In the November-January period, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, rose by 0.9 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in January production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry saw a increase of 3.3 percent on month-on-month basis after a 3.1 percent month-on-month decrease recorded in the previous month, while the output of the domestic construction industry increased by 7.3 percent month on month in the given month after a decrease of 3.1 percent in December from November. In the November-January period, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry decreased by 0.9 percent and output of the domestic construction industry rose by 2.8 percent, both quarter on quarter.
