France's manufacturing output in August decreased by 0.8 percent month on month, according to the statistics released by France's National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE). In the June-August quarter of this year, France’s manufacturing output was down by 0.8 percent year on year and fell by 1.2 percent quarter on quarter.
In August, France's production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, was up by 1.8 percent compared to the previous month. In the June-August quarter, the country’s production in manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment, decreased by 2.1 percent compared to the previous quarter.
On the other hand, in August production of France's motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry fell by one percent on month-on-month basis, while the output of the domestic construction industry was up by 0.3 percent month on month in the given month. In the June-August quarter, output of the motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers industry fell by four percent, while the output of the domestic construction industry declined by 1.1 percent, both quarter on quarter.
