Freight volumes on China’s waterways up 4.1 percent in Jan-Sept

In the January-September period this year, the overall freight volume transported on China’s waterways (rivers, lakes, seas) amounted to 5.11824 billion mt, increasing by 4.1 percent year on year, while the freight traffic volume on the country’s waterways totaled 7.23 trillion mt-km, declining by 1.3 percent year on year, according to the latest data issued by China’s Ministry of Transportation (MOT).
