French crude steel output down seven percent in 2015

In 2015, French crude steel output decreased by seven percent to 15 million mt compared to 2014, according to the latest data released by the French Steel Federation (FFA). 
 
Meanwhile, in December last year, French crude steel production amounted to 978,000 mt, decreasing 12.1 percent year on year. In the same month, crude steel production in France using electric arc furnaces (EAFs) fell by 3.3 percent year on year to 295,000 mt, while crude steel production using blast furnaces (BFs) totaled 683,000 mt, decreasing by 15.3 percent year on year.
