Friedman Industries earns $1.8 million in fiscal Q1 as sales climb

Houston, Texas-based Friedman Industries, a pipe manufacturing, steel coil processing and steel and pipe distribution company, reported Friday at in fiscal Q1 (three months ended June 30, 2011) net earnings were up nearly $400,000 from the same quarter last year to $1,435,137.

The increase comes as sales in the quarter rose close to $10 million from $29.2 million a year ago to $38.9 million in fiscal Q2.
