In the first five months of the current year, Georgia's total external trade turnover with Turkey, which is the top trading partner of the country, amounted to $620.7 million, including exports worth $83.3 million, down 3.9 percent, and imports worth $537.4 million, increasing 2.3 percent, both on year-on-year basis, according to the data provided by the National Statistics Office of Georgia (Geostat).
In the January-May period of this year, Georgia's imports of steel tubes and pipes from Turkey amounted to 26,959 mt, up 54.1 percent year on year. Meanwhile, the value of these imports totaled $17.8 million, up 33.8 percent on year-on-year basis.
