Ontario, Canada-based CCR Technologies Inc. will supply a "2-strand billet caster" for Gerdau Corsa in Mexico. The $9 million investment will increase both the plant's steelmaking productivity and increase product quality. The casting machine will incorporate CCR High Speed mold tube "VCR", and a Cut by Weight control system to allow total annual production of 400,000 tons per year. The start-up is scheduled for Q3 2013.
