In April this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 6.7 percent month on month to 3.6 million metric tons, falling by 1.5 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first four months of this year, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 2.3 percent year on year to 14.3 million mt.
Meanwhile, in March Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.19 million metric tons, decreasing by 7.4 percent year on year, including 2.1 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 6.6 percent year on year, and 1.09 million metric tons of long steel products - down 8.8 percent year on year.
In the first three months of the year, the country's hot rolled steel output decreased by 6.2 percent to 9.05 million mt, consisting of 5.92 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 5.4 percent year on year, and 3.12 million metric tons of long steel products - falling by 7.5 percent year on year.
