German crude steel output down 3.9 percent in September

In September this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 7.5 percent month on month to 3.25 million metric tons, falling by 3.9 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first nine months of this year, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 1.7 percent year on year to 32.01 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in August Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.83 million metric tons, increasing by 3.4 percent year on year, including 1.94 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 1.3 percent year on year, and 890,000 metric tons of long steel products - up 15.4 percent year on year. 
 
In the first eight months of the year, the country's hot rolled steel output decreased by 1.7 percent to 24.63 million mt, consisting of 16.2 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 1.9 percent year on year, and 8.43 million metric tons of long steel products - falling by 1.4 percent year on year.
