German crude steel output down 4.3 percent in February

In February this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 6.7 percent month on month to 3.4 million metric tons, falling by 4.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first two months of this year, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 3.1 percent year on year to 6.96 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in January Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.96 million metric tons, decreasing by six percent year on year, including 2 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 3.6 percent year on year, and 952,000 metric tons of long steel products - down 10.8 percent year on year.
