In July this year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 8.1 percent month on month to 3.39 million metric tons, falling by 6.1 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In the first seven months of this year, crude steel production in Germany decreased by two percent year on year to 25.25 million mt.
Meanwhile, in June Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 3.27 million metric tons, decreasing by 2.4 percent year on year, including 2.03 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 6.9 percent year on year, and 1.24 million metric tons of long steel products - up 5.9 percent year on year.
In the first half of the year, the country's hot rolled steel output decreased by 2.8 percent to 18.78 million mt, consisting of 12.16 million metric tons of flat steel products - down three percent year on year, and 6.62 million metric tons of long steel products - falling by 2.3 percent year on year.
