German crude steel output down 8.3 percent in December

In December last year, Germany's crude steel output decreased by 14.17 percent month on month to 2.99 million metric tons, falling 8.3 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, according to the information provided by the German steel federation Wirtschaftsvereinigung Stahl (WV Stahl). In 2015, crude steel production in Germany decreased by 0.6 percent year on year to 42.68 million mt.
 
Meanwhile, in November Germany's total hot rolled steel product output amounted to 2.91 million metric tons, decreasing four percent year on year, including 1.77 million metric tons of flat steel products - down 7.9 percent year on year, and 1.14 million metric tons of long steel products - up 2.8 percent year on year. 
 
In the first eleven months of 2015, the country's hot rolled steel output increased by 1.1 percent year on year to 34.2 million mt, consisting of 22.2 million metric tons of flat steel products - up 0.2 percent year on year, and 12 million metric tons of long steel products - rising by 2.9 percent year on year.
