German steel plate producer Dillinger Group has announced that it has upgraded its slab pusher furnace 2 at its rolling mill.

The €26 million investment has enabled the company to expand production of ultra-heavy steel plate for offshore wind projects, with a more sustainable process.

In addition to increasing slab thickness and weight, the modernized oven saves an annual 750 MWh of electricity.
