Hungary’s Dunaferr has enough slab supply for rolling lines despite rumors

There are rumors in the market claiming that UK-based steelmaker Liberty Steel has suspended the rolling lines at Hungary-based steel producer Dunaferr due to slab supply problems. Even though the company declined to comment on the issue, SteelOrbis has learned that there is no slab supply shortage within the current production plans of the company.

Before the recent acquisition by Liberty Steel, Dunaferr restarted its hot strip mill, blast furnace No. 2, meltshop and cold rolling mill, sourcing raw materials with the help of Liberty Steel, as SteelOrbis previously reported.
