On the basis of sufficient evidence submitted by Jindal Stainless Ltd on behalf of the domestic industry, after examination of the same with regard to adequacy and accuracy issued in the public notice dated November 25, 2008 published in the Gazette of India, the Indian authority initiated antidumping investigations concerning imports of the subject goods originating in or exported from the subject countries to determine the existence, degree and effect of alleged dumping and to recommend the amount of antidumping duty, which, if levied, would be adequate to remove the injury to the domestic industry.
The authority has preliminarily concluded that imports from the subject countries have increased in absolute terms as well as in relation to total imports and total demand in India. The capacity of the domestic industry has remained unutilized due to the presence of the dumped imports.
