India launches AD probes into high-speed steel imports from China, Brazil, Germany

India’s Directorate of Trade Remedies (DTR) under Ministry of Commerce has launched antidumping (AD) duty investigations into imports of high-speed steel from Brazil, China and Germany, a government official said on Wednesday, August 22.

He said that the specific grade of high-speed steel production to be investigated from dumping would be non-cobalt grade high-speed steel with molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium with their respective content amount specified by DTR.

The product used for manufacturing cutting tools had been filed by Graphite India Limited based on which DTR will launch antidumping investigations with the latter directing all stakeholders to submit their petition relevant to the investigations within  40 days effective from August 14, 2018, the official said.

For the purpose of the investigations DTR will take into consideration all trade and price data on imported high-speed steel from the specified countries from April 01, 2017 to March 31, 2018, the official added.
