Indian steelmaker ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) has ordered a new slab inspection and conditioning plant based on SuperGrinder technology from Italy-based Danieli Centro Maskin, which is to be installed at its Hazira plant.

The new plant will process a variety of slabs such as automotive, low and medium carbon, HSLA, API, silicon, dual phase and alloy. Production will reach up to 1.3 million mt per year. The plant in question is expected to be fully commissioned by the third quarter of 2025.

It will also include Danieli’s E-Cube®, Hi-Grind® and CastGrind® technologies for processing hot slabs up to 800 degrees Celsius.
