India’s JSW Steel sees 4% drop in crude steel output in May

India’s JSW Steel Limited has reported crude steel production of 2.098 million mt for May this year, a decline of four percent year on year, owing to the planned shutdowns of some of its blast furnaces, the company said in a statement on Monday, June 10.

A blast furnace was restarted in the first week of June, while capacity utilization at its India operations stood at 86 percent in May, the company said.
