India’s Kirloskar Ferrous Industries Limited (KFIL) has commenced production from its Bharat iron ore mines, a company statement said on Wednesday, December 18.

The supply of iron ore from the mine started after the receipt of necessary approvals from department of forest of the southern state of Karnataka.

In September 2018, KFIL was declared as the preferred bidder in e-auction of Bharath Mines & Minerals based on highest final price offer submitted by the company.

The company has entered into the mining lease deed with Karnataka government to conduct mining operations at the asset for 50 years.
