Indian state-owned steelmaker Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) plans to import 375,000 mt of prime quality washed and unwashed coking coal for delivery between September 2016 and February 2017, according to a notice issued by the company.

Bidders will have to commence first shipment during September-October 2016, as per the notice issued by SAIL’s Raw Materials Division (RMD).

SAIL’s annual requirement of coking coal stands at 15.6 million mt, over 90 percent of which was sourced from Australia in the last financial year.
