Interpipe to build green HRC production plant

Friday, 14 June 2024 10:54:45 (GMT+3)   |   Istanbul

Ukrainian steel pipe and railway wheel producer Interpipe has announced that it plans to invest approximately $1 billion to expand green steel production facilities. The project includes construction of a second stage at electric steel melting complex and a new green HRC production plant.

“In post-war Ukraine, we expect a significant deficit in the supply of rolled steel. In addition, we can see a constantly growing demand for green steel in the European Union. The proposed project is designed to satisfy this demand. However, its implementation will require significant debt financing from MFIs. We hope that the Ukraine Development Fund will become the tool that will help to prepare this project,” Fadi Hraibi, CEO of Interpipe, said.
