Iran’s steel exports up 35 percent in first 11 months of Iranian year

According to Iranian Steel Producers Association, in the first 11 months (March 21, 2019-February 19, 2020) of the last Iranian year, Iran’s steel exports increased by 35.65 percent year on year to 9.62 million mt.

In the given period, Iran’s shipments of finished steel products abroad totaled 2.98 million mt, up 25 percent year on year, while its exports of semi-finished steel products amounted to 6.35 million mt, up 42 percent year on year. In particular, Iranian exports of billet rose by 52 percent year on year to 4.44 million mt, while its exports of slabs grew by 23 percent year on year to 1.91 million mt.
