Iranian steel producer West Alborz Steel is currently in the process of commissioning its second 20 mt induction furnace, which will increase its annual capacity of crude steel from 100,000 mt to 200,000 mt.

The steelmaker in question, which is based on an 11-hectare site near Abhar city in the northwestern Iranian province of Zanjan, also has another ongoing project for the establishment of a rolling mill with a capacity of 200,000 mt at the same site. This rolling mill, construction of which is expected to be completed by early 2010, will produce I-beams, U-beams, angles and other sections.
