Assofermet, the Italian association representing Italian distributors of scrap, raw materials and steel products, has announced the launch of its new online tool to determine the schedule of antidumping and anti-subsidy duties in the EU area in a press release published today, December 2.
The tool is only available for Assofermet members, and it allows companies to understand whether and when a certain product subject to antidumping investigations will be also subject to AD duties.
Since EU legislation is quite complicated in this regard, Assofermet aims to “support businesses in their everyday operations”, the press release states. “On the one hand, we will continue to emphasize the damages of import restrictions on the Italian and European steel market. On the other, our prerogative is to help our members find their way in this complex scenario of legislation”, said Luca Carbonoli, director of Assofermet.
Currently, two of the most relevant ongoing antidumping investigations in the EU market are AD715, which involves hot rolled flat steel products of iron, non-alloy or other alloy steel from Egypt, India, Vietnam and Japan, and AD705, which involves tinplate from China.
