JFE Steel to use J-TerraPlate™ heavy steel plates for monopile foundations

Japanese steelmaker JFE Holdings Co. has announced that it will use its large and heavy steel plate, called J-TerraPlate™, for the production of monopile foundations for offshore wind power projects.

J-TerraPlate™ is at continuous caster No. 7 at the Kurashiki plant.

The company’s plate plants in Kurashiki and Keihin produce steel plates of up to 37 tons in large quantities.

JFE Steel stated that it will continue to expand its green-energy initiatives in order to contribute to decarbonization.
