The Economic and Information Technology Commission of China’s Jiangsu Province has announced that Jiangsu-based company Jiangsu Delong Nickel Co., Ltd (Jiangsu Delong Nickel) will construct a new stainless steel production facility with an annual output capacity of 1.12 million mt. This will replace the outdated 1.4 million mt annual stainless steel production capacity of Jiangsu-based steelmaker Xuzhou Chengri Iron and Steel Co., Ltd (Xuzhou Chengri Steel), which is to be eliminated before Jiangsu Delong Nickel’s facilities begin production operations.

In December 2016, steel production facilities operated by Jiangsu Delong Nickel without official approval were closed down and then eliminated.

On March 22 this year, Jiangsu Delong Nickel acquired 100 percent equity of Xuzhou Chengri Steel, following which it received approval to replace Xuzhou Chengri Steel’s outdated capacity with new facilities which it plans to construct.
