The government of China’s Jiangxi Province has issued its Three-Year Action Plan for Building a National Ecological Civilization Highland in Jiangxi Province (2024-2026), stating that the proportion of strategic emerging industries in the added-value industry above designated size will reach more than 29 percent, while the operating revenue of the new energy industry chain will amount to RMB 700 billion ($98.2 billion). At the same time, electric-arc-furnace steelmaking capacity is targeted to amount to 4.6 million mt by 2026.

Jiangxi Province will fully implement the implementation plan for carbon peaking in the industrial sector and key industries such as iron and steel, building materials, petrochemicals and chemicals, and non-ferrous metals, aiming to promote the synergy of pollution reduction and carbon reduction across the industrial chain, according to the plan.
