JSW Steel’s crude steel output up 22 percent in Q2 FY 2016-17

JSW Steel, one of the largest Indian steelmakers, produced 3.98 million mt of crude steel in the second quarter (ended September 30) of the 2016-17 financial year, showing an increase of 22 percent year on year, achieving its highest-ever quarterly crude steel output.

According to the company's statement, in the given quarter JSW Steel produced 2.86 million mt of flat rolled products, increasing by 12 percent, while its long rolled product output totaled 790,000 mt, up 24 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
