JSW’s sales revenue decreases in December quarter

Major Indian steelmaker JSW Steel (JSW) has announced its financial and operational results for the third quarter ended December 31 of the financial year 2014-15, posting a net profit of INR 4.15 billion ($66.9 million), compared to a net profit of INR 6.5 billion in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. In the given quarter, JSW's sales revenues decreased by 3.6 percent to INR 113.1 billion ($1.82 billion), compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
 
During the third quarter, JSW Steel produced 3.17 million mt of crude steel, up nine percent, while achieving finished steel sales of 3.03 million mt, rising by two percent, both year on year.

JSW Steel stated that in the given quarter the company's galvanized and galvalume products production and sales amounted 360,000 mt and 370,000 mt respectively, while its iron ore mines in Chile produced and shipped 220,000 mt of iron ore concentrate during the quarter.
