Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Industry and Construction has announced that it has extended the ban on scrap exports for another six months effective as of August 22. The ban includes ferrous waste, used pipes and rails.

The ban is planned to ensure raw material for local steel producers and help increase capacity utilization at mills experiencing a shortage of scrap.
