Kazakhstan issues Q1 production results

According to the data released by the Republic of Kazakhstan's Agency of Statistics, in Q1 this year Kazakhstan registered a 36 percent increase year on year in its crude steel production and a 21.4 percent year-on-year growth in its production of flat rolled steel, rising to 1.235 million mt and 794,820 mt respectively. Meanwhile, Kazakhstan's tinplate production for the first three months of this year amounted to 57,853 mt - up 19 percent year on year, while its galvanized steel output came to 154,361 mt - up 9.9 percent year on year.
 
In Q1, Kazakhstan's output of ferroalloys went down by 1.8 percent year on year to 419,179 mt, its sintered and non-sintered iron ore output increased by 1.85 percent to 5.8 million mt, and its iron ore pellet production went up by 2.65 percent to 2.23 million mt, all compared to the same quarter last year. The country's coal output in January-March this year increased by 12.7 percent year on year to 30.874 million mt, while its coke output went up 3.5 percent year on year to 688,600 mt.
