Khouzestan Steel to raise crude steel output by 20 percent

Iranian steel producer Khouzestan Steel's managing director Abdolmajid Sharifi has stated that the company will produce 2.8 million mt of crude steel in the current Iranian year (21.03.2009-20.03.2010), marking an increase of 20 percent compared to the last Iranian year.

Khouzestan Steel's nominal annual crude steel capacity has increased from 2.4 million mt to 3.2 million mt after modifications carried out at its steelmaking plant and with the commencement of operations at its new direct reduction iron plant in early 2009.
