Khouzestan Steel ups semis output by 15 percent

Iranian state-owned steelmaker Khouzestan Steel registered a 15 percent rise in its output of semi-finished steel in the first quarter of the current Iranian year (started March 21), according to IMIDRO (Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization).

Khouzestan Steel produced 679,409 mt of semi-finished steel in the first quarter of the current Iranian year, compared to 594,006 mt in the corresponding period of last year.
 
Khouzestan Steel is based in the southeastern Iranian city of Ahwaz, close to the Persian Gulf. It recently raised its semi-finished steel production capacity to 3.2 million mt per year.
