KhPW to invest UAH 44.5 million in modernization

Khartsyzsk Pipe Works (KhPW), a subsidiary of the Ukrainian iron ore and steel producer Metinvest Holding (Metinvest), plans to invest in 2009 UAH 44.5 million (approx. $5.74 million) in the modernization of its production facilities.

Accordingly, KhPW intends to install a new hydro press for the testing pipes with 406-1,422 mm diameter and 6-40 mm wall thickness, to acquire an induction furnace and to modernize its expander No. 4 and its internal welding mills.

In 2009, KhPW plans to operate at 45 percent of its capacity.
