Kobelco Millcon Steel to modernize Thai wire rod mill to increase local supply

UK-based plantmaker Primetals Technologies has announced that it will modernize the wire rod mill of Kobelco Millcon Steel, a joint venture located in Rayong, Thailand between Japanese steelmaker Kobe Steel with Thailand-based Millcon Steel Public Company Ltd, in order to increase its local supply of special steel products. 
 
According to Primetals Technologies, when completed in May 2017, the 480,000 metric ton per year wire rod mill will supply steel rods for automotive parts.
