Konecranes to supply handling equipment to Kuwaiti ports

Finland-based lifting services company Konecranes has announced that it will supply nine reach stackers and 23 empty container handlers to Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA).

According to a company release, the machines will be used for container handling in the ports of Shuwaikh and Shuaiba and delivered in sequence starting from January 2011, the last ones being delivered in mid-2011. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the order.

The Shuwaikh and Shuaiba ports in Kuwait, which are managed and operated by KPA, are going through an expansion process, also covering the scope of the order.
